Billing Questions

The billing for Coastal Anesthesiology Consultants is handled through the Billing Department at our corporate office in Sunrise, Florida. The highly trained and helpful staff can be reached at a toll free phone number, 1-800-296-2611. They will be happy to assist you with any billing questions, price quotes, insurance questions, or other concerns. Their offices are open between 8:00am and 4:30pm. If you call outside of normal business hours, or just receive the message that they are busy with other clients, please leave a message when prompted and they will return your call in a timely manner.

Insurances Accepted

Coastal Anesthesiology Consultants participates with all government payers, including Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare. We are also In-Network with many commercial insurance companies. Please call our Billing Department at 1-800-296-2611 to find out if we are Participating Providers with your plan.

Our Billing Department will file a claim with your insurance company for the plans with which we participate. You may receive statements at 30 day intervals while awaiting payment of a claim. Once your plan has paid our contracted in-network fees, you will be responsible for paying any outstanding balance based on the deductible and co-pay agreements in your plan.

Even if we are not participating providers in your insurance network, the Billing staff will still file a claim with your insurance carrier on your behalf if your plan provides out of network benefits. Because out of network claims may take longer to process, you may receive a statement showing the full balance along with a notation that we are awaiting payment of a claim. These statements are generated automatically by the billing system and simply keep you informed about the status of your claim. Once your insurance company has paid its portion of your bill, you will receive a statement showing the balance that you owe. You are encouraged to call the Billing Department at the above number to inquire about available discount programs that may apply to paying your balance.

Please note that some insurance carriers will mail checks in payment of a claim to patients when a provider is not a participating provider in one of their networks. Coastal Anesthesiology receives copies of all Explanation of Benefit (EOB) documents from insurances carriers once claims are paid, including payments issued to patients. If your EOB shows payment was issued to you, you will receive a statement for the total balance owed. In this case, you should deposit the check and send us payment for your total balance. Please be aware that depositing a payment from your insurance company and failing to pay us is insurance fraud and is a serious crime that will be punishable to the fullest extent of the law.

Self Pay Patients

We offer discounts and payment plans for patients who are personally paying for our services. If you are arranging a surgical procedure that is not covered by insurance, or if you received care while not covered by an insurance plan, please call our Billing Department to learn what payment arrangements can be made.

Our philosophy is we “collect in order to serve; we don't serve in order to collect.” Your prompt attention to our statements is greatly appreciated so we can maintain the high quality of service you have come to expect from Coastal Anesthesiology Consultants. We know this is a very difficult time for many patients we serve. Please let us know if there are any circumstances that will affect your ability to pay your balance and our staff will be happy to work with you to develop a reasonable payment plan.
